Printed Wedding Planner

Afternoon!

Printed Wedding Planner by Kate Lewis Design

Just wanted to share a few photos of a present I recently made for my newly engaged bestest friend! I designed, printed and put together a Wedding Planner book! It's made up of:

•  individual printed pages for every part involved in planning a wedding 
• an envelope glued to each page to stash those all important details
• a "this belongs to" style front page for my friend to fill in
• a sheet of personalised stickers to glue in any tear-outs from magazines
• a ribbon bookmark
• tied together with matching ribbon
• and of course finished with the sparkliest glitter!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!

Ok I admit I've been really rubbish with my blog over the past month (or so!) December was stupidly busy and something had to give. The blog gave :(

So I shall write down a few New Year resolutions (if I write them down I can't pretend they didn't exist!)

• I will blog more and it will be better :)
• I will try harder with Facebook, to get more 'like'ers
• I will be more selfish when it comes to business 'friends' who take more advice from me than they are prepared to give (you live and learn!)
• I will update my Wedding Stationery website.
• I will try to get my greeting cards into more independent shops.
• I will have a break at lunch, it's never going to be a lunch hour but will try to 'stop' for half an hour at least.

That will do for now - no point in setting too much to do!!!

I’m a married Mum of two beautiful girls and about to become a Grandma for the first time next month which I am very excited about.  I am passionate about design, interiors, soft furnishings, art and textile design which is bizarre as I am absolutely terrible at sewing and painting.  I do have a good eye for an excellent product though which helps in this business.  I love animals and have a menagerie of 4 cats, a Jack Russell & 5 fish.  I would have more but time & husband deny me this pleasure.  I am a real soap and telly addict, love chocolate and having a good natter with friends.  In the past I have been a model, acted and sang in panto and have travelled the world as a BA Air Stewardess.

Gift Wrapped& Gorgeous started because of a situation where I was badly let down by an ex business partner.  We had a wedding design company and she literally walked out on me after only 3 months of trading, leaving me with a shop lease, a full appointment book of brides and a bank overdraft!  I knew I couldn’t manage this business on my own because of child care issues so I decided to close it and start up Gift Wrapped & Gorgeous.  Having caught the business bug I couldn’t give it up entirely!

• What or who inspires you?

Lots of people and situations inspire me such as soldiers who have been in Alfghanistan & who have lost limbs yet keep smiling & trek miles for charity.  People with great tenacity and compassion inspire me.

In The Press! Wedding Ideas Magazine issue 102

I'm so giddy and super happy to let you know that 6 (yes SIX!!!) Kate Lewis Design wedding stationery products have been featured in the new fabulous issue of Wedding Ideas magazine!!!

It always makes my heart skip a little when I see one of my designs in print, in an actual magazine that actual brides will read! You'd think I'd be over it by now - I'm not!! I love it! But to find six of mine is SO exciting!!!

....and so i blog!

On a rather grey Friday morning I have taken the plunge into the (quite scary) world of blogging! Wish me luck!
First I should introduce myself and my work; I'm Kate, a designer. I draw and make things that people seem to like. I have a Wedding Stationery website if you'd like to have a nosy - I'm actually a little bit proud of it www.katelewisdesign.co.uk

I started making wedding stationery after I made the wedding invitations for our wedding. I realised how much I loved both designing and making them! Although I am from a fashion design background I have had a lot of graphic design experience over the years, which I think makes my style quite unique and quite different to the typical wedding stationery you find out there already.
I have over 30 ranges all of which include: save the date cards, wedding invitations, evening invitations, civil partnership invitations, RSVP cards, information cards, order of ceremony, table plans, place cards, table numbers, menus, favour tags, thank you cards and I have just started to introduce spiral bound guest books.

I love to add a touch of sparkle using Swarovski crystals, sequins or glitter!
