I’m a married Mum of two beautiful girls and about to become a Grandma for the first time next month which I am very excited about. I am passionate about design, interiors, soft furnishings, art and textile design which is bizarre as I am absolutely terrible at sewing and painting. I do have a good eye for an excellent product though which helps in this business. I love animals and have a menagerie of 4 cats, a Jack Russell & 5 fish. I would have more but time & husband deny me this pleasure. I am a real soap and telly addict, love chocolate and having a good natter with friends. In the past I have been a model, acted and sang in panto and have travelled the world as a BA Air Stewardess.
- About your company......when, why and how you started, what your company does and why it does it best, where can we find you (email, website, shop, etc)
Gift Wrapped& Gorgeous started because of a situation where I was badly let down by an ex business partner. We had a wedding design company and she literally walked out on me after only 3 months of trading, leaving me with a shop lease, a full appointment book of brides and a bank overdraft! I knew I couldn’t manage this business on my own because of child care issues so I decided to close it and start up Gift Wrapped & Gorgeous. Having caught the business bug I couldn’t give it up entirely!
- What or who inspires you?
Lots of people and situations inspire me such as soldiers who have been in Alfghanistan & who have lost limbs yet keep smiling & trek miles for charity. People with great tenacity and compassion inspire me.
- Top 3 on your wish list right now?
- My baby granddaughter being delivered safely
- My business being a huge success for everyone concerned
- My house being completely re decorated and styled by Linda Barker!
- Tell us your best/ funniest joke…………go on its Friday!
Oh good grief, I don’t really know any jokes. Let me see….. Why do only 10% of men make it to heaven?
Because if they all went, it would be hell.
- What do you have planned for this weekend?
Putting e newsletters together for the following week, going to see a movie with my little girl & my husband & cleaning the house.
- Finally (thank Chrunchie) what give’s you that ‘Friday-Feeling’?
Hmm, the last time I had a Friday feeling was when I was at college & looking forward to seeing my boyfriend at the weekend doing normal things like going out for a meal or a party. Now I actually think weekends get in the way and look forward to work on Monday!!
